The sheet below is drawn to scale against one fixed day, 06:30 to 21:00. A block is as tall as its session is long, and the number at the foot of it is how many of the eight places are still open as of Sunday night.
Booking opens on Sunday at 18:00 for the following seven days. Cancel four hours before and the place goes straight back onto this sheet.
Every block above is drawn against the same measure, 06:30 to 21:00. Nothing has been widened to make the sheet look busier, and the long gap across the middle of the week is real: between about 13:40 and 16:45 the floor is swept, the machines are checked and nobody is in the room.
We publish the real numbers because the alternative is you turning up at 17:30 on a Monday and being told to come back Thursday. The honest version of this timetable is below, and it has not changed much in four terms.
Sunday at 18:00, for the seven days that follow. Everything on the sheet opens at the same moment — there is no early access, no tier, and no app that gets it first.
Four hours. Before that the place goes back on the sheet and somebody on the waiting list gets a text. After that it counts as used, including the 06:45s, which is the one people argue about and the one we never move on.
The waiting list is first come, first served and it is a list, not a lottery. Roughly one place in three comes back on the evening sheets. You get a text; you have twenty minutes to take it.
Yes, once, with whoever is teaching it told beforehand. If it suits you the level on your name changes that week. If it does not, somebody says so on the way out rather than letting you book six of them.
Only if somebody is ill, and then it is covered rather than cancelled wherever we can manage it. New sessions are added at a term boundary with a fortnight's notice, never quietly overnight.
Come in. The door is not locked and nobody will look at you. Past ten minutes you will be asked to sit the first block out, because the first block is what makes the rest of it safe.
No sign-up, no card on file, no consultation before you are allowed near the room. Tell us which row and we will put your name on it.
